Dmitry Anfinogenov, Chairman of the Russian Association of Gambling Zones AIRIS, made a big report on the development of the gambling business at the 29th International Exhibition of Tourism and Hospitality MITT.
The largest tourism exhibition in the country was held in Moscow from 16 to 18 March. The Association of Gambling Zones of Russia took part in the MITT business program. The main statement of the Association concerned the position in relation to tourism: the gambling business of the country is a driver for the development of territories.
«The active participation of the gambling business in the development of tourism is already a pattern. The results and projects of 2022 once again confirm these priorities. All gambling zones in Russia have retained the main trend: we are improving business on the model of entertainment clusters, — said Dmitry Anfinogenov, Chairman of the Russian Association of Gaming Zones AIRIS. — In each of the game zones, additional infrastructure facilities for active tourism appear. Thanks to this, guests get much more opportunities for recreation. And of course, as a result, the non-gaming income of the business itself is increasing. Thus, in 2022, the share of non-gaming revenues of all gaming zones exceeded 15% — an excellent result that demonstrates the right choice in favor of tourism.»
Natalya Poritskaya also made a presentation at the international exhibition MITT. The marketing director of the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone told how the company managed to become the epicenter of the entertainment industry in the Krasnodar Territory: «We host concerts of the most popular Russian stars, international sports tournaments and championships, ice shows, e-sports tournaments, theatrical performances, gastronomic dinners, business forums, conferences and many other events. We have prioritized expanding the range of entertainment for different target audiences.»
For the period of work from 2018 to July 2022, this approach allowed to increase the non-gaming revenues of the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone by 122%.
The launch of new infrastructure facilities had a positive impact on the commercial performance of all gambling zones. So, in 2022, the Siberian Coin gambling zone opened a restaurant and a chalet. At the same time, it continues to develop active tourism in Altai by launching services: ATV tours, paragliding, rafting, horseback riding and many others. The growth of non-gaming revenues of «Altai Palace» amounted to about 53%.
In the gambling zone «Siberian Coin» they began to implement a project to expand and develop the resort. At the end of 2021, the Kaimskoye deer maral appeared as part of the Altai Palace Group: during 2022, work was carried out to improve and build a new territory. Also in 2022, 40 chalets were put into operation on the territory of the Altai Palace casino, the hotel complex received the official 4-star category. New bath complexes, two outdoor pools and a POLARIS center with extreme types of entertainment for active tourism have been built. The popular Lambic restaurant and kids club have opened in the hotel building.
The Tigre de Cristal Hotel & Resort in the Primorye gambling zone also received an increase in non-gaming revenues. This was made possible by opening a new Chinese restaurant Hot Pot, reorienting services to the local market and maintaining a consistently high level of service, including the five-star Tigre de Cristal Hotel, the best in the region.
The Yantarnaya gambling zone in the Kaliningrad region in 2022 showed a 43% increase in non-gaming revenues, comparing these figures with 2021. High results were achieved thanks to concerts, sports events, gastronomic dinners. In addition, in 2022, the Yantarnaya gambling zone completed the reconstruction of the slot machine hall of the Magic Crystal slot machine hall, doubling the area of the hall. We also expanded the gaming area at the SOBRANIE casino and developed new recreational offers for guests, while maintaining a high level of service.
«Gambling business in Russia is an active driver of territorial development. Each gambling zone creates new tourist facilities and services for recreation, offers the most diverse entertainment program. For a long time, we have relied not on the classic game, but on the development of business as an entertainment cluster, ” summed up Dmitry Anfinogenov, Chairman of the Association of Russian Gambling Zones AIRIS.
