Data on the number of visitors in the period from January 1 to January 8 were shared by: Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone (Sochi), SOBRANIE Casino (Kaliningrad), Siberian Coin gambling zone (Altai) and Tigre de Cristal Casino (Vladivostok).
This figure has become a record for the entire industry over the past few years. It is important to say that the increase compared to last year was 68%. It is also interesting to note that the gambling industry has significantly improved its doc-like performance. In 2019, the attendance of gambling zones in Russia was 44,408 guests.
At the same time, all entertainment clusters record a tendency to increase the flow of guests during the New Year holidays. For example, the dynamics of visits to the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone from January 1 to January 8 looks like this: 2022 – 23,858 guests, 2023 – 32,587 guests, 2024 – 36,920 guests.
A similar growth ratio is observed in Vladivostok. The Tigre de Cristal Casino was visited by 6,693 guests in 2022, 8,596 guests in 2023, and 11,251 guests in 2024.
SOBRANIE Casino in Kaliningrad's Yantarnaya demonstrated approximately the same figures in 2022 and 2023, hosting 4,539 and 4,687 guests, respectively. However, over the New Year holidays, the gambling enclave attracted 6,790 guests.
Siberian Coin in Altai also supported the industry trend and shared the following attendance values: 2022 – 22,208 guests, 2023 – 26,216 guests, 2024 – 29,091 guests.
Dmitry Anfinogenov, Executive Director of the Association of Operators of the Entertainment and Event Tourism Industry, attributes the annual increase in the attendance of gambling zones during the New Year holidays to an increase in non-gaming activities in domestic casinos: "Our gambling industry is an active part of the entire Russian tourism industry. The gambling industry certainly sees the intensity with which domestic tourism is developing in our country. An impressive number of our fellow citizens have changed the directions of their New Year's trips, paying attention to the popular destinations within the country.
It is important to honestly note that the locations of Russian casinos are of great tourist interest and in isolation from gambling entertainment. Nevertheless, the needs and expectations of the average tourist have changed. People have become more interested in the event component of recreation. We are talking about concert programs, sports shows, gastronomic dinners, show programs, SPA and wellness treatments, as well as high-level hotel service.
It is these areas of business that Russian casinos are developing and improving year by year, attracting more and more guests with non-gaming entertainment."
