These results were published by the Association of Operators of the Entertainment and Event Tourism Industry (AIRIS). The exact number of guests during the gender holidays was 51,593 guests.
Information on attendance in the period from February 23 to 25 and from March 8 to 10 was shared by all members of the Association, namely: Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone (Sochi) – 19,290 guests, Siberian Coin gambling zone (Altai) – 16,863 guests, Tigre de Cristal Casino (Vladivostok) – 9,920 guests, SOBRANIE Casino (Kaliningrad) – 5,520 guests.
It is interesting to note that earlier Russian casinos shared a forecast, within which they were preparing to receive about 25,000 guests. However, the actual result was twice the expectations of the gambling industry.
It will be important to mention the average attendance of all gambling zones during the February and March holidays from 2020 to 2024. It is 26,000 people.
The exact breakdown by year is as follows:
- 2020 – 24,822 people (holidays: February 22, 23, 24 and March 7,8.9)
- 2021 – 20,000 people (holidays: February 21, 22, 23 and March 6, 7, 8)
- 2022 – 12,016 people (holidays: February 23 and March 6,7,8)
- 2023 – 22,835 people (holidays: February 23, 24, 25, 26 and March 8)
- 2024 – 51,593 people (holidays: February 23, 24, 25 and 8, March 9th, 10th)
The analysis of the attendance of Russian casinos during the gender holidays is complicated by the different duration and distribution of days off in the production calendar from year to year.
The new record for attendance, exceeding 50,000 people, is partly based on the successful location of the March and February holidays in the production calendar of 2024. And also on an established trend, in which Russian gambling zones annually increase the number of guests during such periods as the New Year holidays, May holidays and the summer holiday season.
AIRIS Executive Director Dmitry Anfinogenov commented: "In fact, efforts to develop non-gaming activities proved to be overly justified and allowed us to double the expected result. This success for the industry is based on the current strategy for the development of Russian gambling clusters. Gambling zones fill their calendars with a variety of entertainment events during the holidays, acting as leaders and drivers in terms of event tourism in their regions. It is fair to admit that modern gambling zones offer their guests much more than just a game. And judging by the numbers, this concept fully justifies itself."
