Information on the number of guests was provided by all AIRIS members, namely: the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone (Sochi), the Siberian Coin gambling zone (Altai), the Tigre de Cristal casino (Vladivostok) and the SOBRANIE casino (Kaliningrad).
It is worth noting that the configuration of the 2024 production calendar had a significant impact on the attendance of gambling zones. Two weekend segments were separated by 3 working days. Because of this, tourists were able to plan a long vacation between April 28 and May 12. Thanks to this coincidence of circumstances, gambling zones, along with other sectors of the tourism market, were in additional demand among guests.
The Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone welcomed 39,367 guests. Analytics show that for the last four years, the gambling zone has seen a trend toward an increase in the number of visitors on May weekends.
Data on attendance during the May holidays for previous years (Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone): 2023 - 22,872 people. 2022 – 22,850 people. 2021 20,306 people.
Thus, the number of visitors to the southern gambling zone has increased by almost 50% over the past three years, if we consider the May holidays.
A similar percentage increase occurred in the Primorye gambling zone. Casino Tigre de Cristal, which welcomed 17,724 guests, reported a doubling of attendance compared to the May holidays of previous years.
Data on attendance during the May holidays for previous years (Tigre de Cristal “Primorye”): 2023 - 8997 people. 2022 – 8,850 people. 2021 - 8,691 people. The Siberian Coin gambling zone became the leader in the number of visits during the past May holidays, receiving 40,000 visitors. This result was the best for the gambling zone in Altai over the past few years.
**Data on attendance during the May holidays for previous years (gaming zone “Siberian Coin”): **2023 – 4,800 people. 2022 – 4,630 people. 2021 – 3,395 people.
The general trend towards an increase in the number of guests was supported by the SOBRANIE casino in the Kaliningrad Yantaraya. During the same period in May, the gambling enclave was visited by 16,435 guests.
Data on attendance during the May holidays for previous years (SOBRANIE “Amber”): 2023 – 2,778 people, 2022 – 4,211 people, 2021 – 4,123 people.
It should be recalled that the number and location of May holidays changes annually in the production calendar. In 2023, 2022 and 2021, data and the number of guests in gambling zones were measured in the period from May 1 to May 9, excluding nearby non-working days.
Executive Director of the Association of Entertainment Industry and Event Tourism Operators (AIRIS) Dmitry Anfinogenov commented on the increase in the number of guests in gambling zones: “During the past May holidays, gambling zones again experienced increased interest from guests, expressed in record levels of attendance.
This circumstance indicates the synchronization of the gambling industry with other participants in the tourism market, for which the May weekend is traditionally a period of high demand.
At the same time, gambling zones are aware that they are in a very competitive environment, where many different recreation scenarios are available to tourists, both for a long vacation and for a weekend trip.
That is why gambling zones decided to develop event tourism on their territories. This strategy has transformed Russian casinos into entertainment complexes where guests have access to a wide range of entertainment: gastronomic dinners, star concerts, large-scale sports shows and much more.
Data on growing attendance suggests that the chosen vector for the development of gambling clusters has proven itself, so in the coming years we will see an intensification of this trend.”
