The filming takes place in existing gambling zones in Russia and covers several regions of the country: the Kaliningrad Region, Sochi, the Altai and Primorsky Territories. The authors focus not only on the gambling infrastructure but also on the broader context of the territories’ development: hotel infrastructure, the event industry, services, workforce training, and new entertainment formats.
The film’s protagonists will be the managers and staff of the gambling zones, industry experts, and people directly involved in the development of these projects. Their stories will make it possible to show the industry through everyday work, professional tasks, and the changes that are taking place in the regions where gambling zones are present. Representatives of government bodies and regional development institutions are also involved in the creation of the film. They will talk about their interaction with the industry, the development of territories, and the role of gambling zones in shaping the tourism and economic infrastructure of the regions.
“It was important for us to show the modern gambling industry not through a set of formal characteristics, but through the people and territories that together shape its current face.” Therefore, we are filming not only casinos, but also work processes, events, and the life of the regions around gambling zones. The involvement of industry representatives and the government will make it possible to look at this process from different angles and see how the industry is changing today. I would like to separately thank the regional tourism ministries and their leaders for supporting the project, participating in it, and helping to organize the filming. Without this cooperation, implementing such a large‑scale project would have been much more difficult,” said Dmitry Anfinogenov, Executive Director of AIRIS.
Special attention will be paid to the specifics of each region. The film will show how gambling zones are integrated into the existing tourism infrastructure, what new formats are emerging around them, and how the environment in the territories where they operate is changing.
The film’s premiere will take place in November 2026 in Sochi as part of the annual AIIRIS gambling summit. Traditionally, the summit brings together leaders and top managers in the gambling industry, representatives of government bodies, tourism businesses, and other market participants. The film screening will be part of the summit’s business programme and will allow the project to be presented to the professional community for the first time.
