Information about taxation of your winnings/losses and instructions on what to do and where to submit information.
Celebrate, of course! And certainly make sure you pay your taxes on time. How should this be done?
If Fortune has smiled on you and you have won at Boomerang Casino, Casino Sochi or Bonus Slots Hall, do not forget it is important to pay your taxes. Under the Russian legislation, winnings are subject to tax and it is your responsibility to pay this tax.
The tax is assessed on the positive gap between the funds received from the casino’s teller and the funds you deposited with the casino. The tax is not assessed per visit but on your annual winnings!
Information on teller transactions is automatically submitted to the OFD (fiscal data operator) system, which makes it available to the tax service. If you are in the black at year-end, your winnings are subject to 13% tax (with total proceeds under RUB 5 million) or to 15% tax (with total proceeds over RUB 5 million).
You may file a tax return or you may pay on the basis of a notification from the tax service. Receipts issued by games of hazard organizers and bank statements that confirm expenditure of funds in the casino may serve as confirmation of your winnings and of your betting expenses.
Collecting and keeping the paperwork confirming the player’s outlays and winnings in games of hazard is the responsibility of the player (taxpayer).
Tax payment deadline: 1 December of the year following the preceding tax period.
